Parkinsons; how the Alexander Technique can help.

You can read about Chloe Stallibrass, a qualified Alexander teacher, and her work with those diagnosed with Parkinsons at http://www.londonalexander.co.uk

Here is an extract from her website:-

‘Benefits for Parkinsons Sufferers.

….The Alexander Technique help because it teaches you to use mental strategies and approaches rather than simple strength to improve balance and movement. people with Parkinsons are only slightly more likely than others of the same age to have short-term memory loss, so people with Parkinsons can benefit as much as anyone else from lessons….’

One of the things that Chloe recommends is to spend some time in the Alexander Rest Position or semi-supine position.  It will help you to cope with the stresses of suffering from Parkinsons and everyday life. For instructions on how to do this click here.
